As always we could use your support by contacting the radio station after the show tonight to request Road to Oblivion and "2 Good 4 U" to maximize our "exposure". The tune is one of the new ones penned by our guitarist Neil Goes and lead singer/band co-founder Alex Higgins. You can also contact the station via email, phone or snail mail and let them know you like the music. Click here for their contact page.
Friday, August 8th 2008With the our first CD almost complete, Road to Oblivion would like to take this opportunity to thank:
George Schacher- Fiddle
Nick Venti- Tenor Saxophone
Tom Lindsay- Harp
Josh Herzog and Cat Trax Studio- Engineer/Production
Glenn Bunton for website design and maintenance
Mike Guzzo over at crumbs.netMark Bertini would like to thank:
Philip and Jean Bertini. Though they are long gone from this earth their joy and passion for music resonates strongly in my heart. One could never want stronger role models for parents. This album is dedicated to them. *** I miss you very much!!!*** Laura and Suzanna Bertini for being a very loving and supportive wife and daughter. This album could not have completed without them. Las Amo!
David Martinook for being a cool brother one could look up to through life and navigate the treacherous waters of popular culture with.
Alex Higgins, Duane Etienne, Terry Plunkett, Neil Goes and Donny Holland for their incredible talents, hard work and dedication for breathing life into these old songs of mine.
Adanivia Feliciano, Jorge, Izabella and Oscar Colon, Joel, Bea, Cecilia and Emile Rodriguez, Wil, Jessica, Ethan and Henry Youmans for always coming out to the shows and making my heart smile. Seeing you on the other side of the dance floor takes the show to a new level. Mi Familia! Black Sheep unite!
Helen Kuzak, Fred Johnson and Paul Salina for being my first music teachers. And all the musicians I have had the distinct pleasure with playing with over the years. Their musical language has become part of mine.
A special dedication goes out to Margarite "Meg" Taneski. There is an absence left in my heart with her passing. Many things happen in life which seem cruel or unfair but the short time that she played part in mine only enhanced it. I will be joining you for Margaritas on the other side of that Big White Gate.
Alexandra Higgins would like to dedicate this cd to the most important and influential person in my life, my mother, Anne Higgins. To my two children, Isabellle and Colemar, who are the "reasons for my day" and to my bother Sean, who I loved very much and think about every day since his death. To my sisters and my best friends, Brigitte, Jessica and Martha, who helped me become focused and passionate about song writing and my art.
I would also like to put a heartfelt thanks to the band members who put an incredible amount of time into making this project happen. I am grateful to have all of them in my life as musicans and as friends.
Lastly, I wanted to thank an artist Lawrence Faust, who made a wood sculpture for me which was a gift that will forever stay close to my heart. To Dan Kumpin, who gave me a gift as well; a belief in myself and my music. I would like to dedicate this cd to my entire family and to all those who helped me in my path to find my way.
Sunday, August 3rd 2008Our new CD is coming! It's been a busy summer but we're excited to let you know our new CD will be coming out shortly. We had some great recording sessions in the studio at the end of June where we put down another set of six new songs. The recordings are now in the process of being engineered and mastered and we hope to have them out and available in a very short period of time. We'll be sure to let you know when the new CD is available.
Saturday, June 21st 2008We are heading into the studio this weekend to finish the album "Something to Say". It will continue the story that we laid forth in March but we plan on stepping it up a notch or two with our new songs. Without giving away too much, all we can say is please stay tuned. It promises to be great fun.
And our second set of news is that we are being played on WEQX 102.7 again as part of the EQX-posure series. You may recall a couple months ago we were on there with our debut of "Martha". All the support you guys gave us pushed us through to this next round which means we have officially entered rotation into EQX's playlist. We sure do appreciate the support given to the band and please keep it up by requesting "Martha" some more. This will only help us secure a spot in the future & hopefully get more "Road" songs on when time allows. Don't forget the show is at 7pm on Sunday nights and runs one hour in length.
Click here for the link to the EQX-posure page.
You can get to the listen live link by clicking here
And the request link (just scroll down past the singles on the page to get to the form for requests) is here. We'd really appreciate it if you could take a moment to make a request for "Martha".
